1. Introduction
1.1 In this privacy policy, “we”, “us” and “our” means Stratocumulus Legal (ABN 78 639 204 710), which is an incorporated legal practice operated by Stratocumulus Tuesday Pty Ltd.
1.2 This privacy policy applies to individuals who engage us, or interact with us, whether directly or via our website.
1.3 If we provide a “designated service” that is regulated by Austrac (as defined in Items 1 to 9 of Table 6, contained in subsection 6(5B) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth)), we will publish a separate privacy policy in respect of the personal information we are required to collect to verify your identity.
2. General
2.1 We collect information about you and your interactions with us, for example, when you engage us to provide legal services, call us or otherwise visit our website. The information we collect from you may include your identity and contact details, your use of our services and details of enquiries or complaints you make.
2.2 We collect, hold and use your personal information so that we can:
(a) provide you with services, and manage our relationship with you;
(b) contact you, for example, to respond to your queries or complaints, or if we need to tell you something important;
(c) comply with our legal obligations and assist government and law enforcement agencies or regulators.
2.3 We will collect your personal information directly from you whenever you interact with us. If you do not provide us with your personal information, we may not be able to provide you with our services, communicate with you or respond to your enquiries.
2.4 We store most information about you in computer systems and databases operated by either us or our external service providers. Some information about you is recorded in paper files that we store securely.
2.5 We do not disclose your personal information to any third parties, unless:
(a) we are required or authorised by law to do so; or
(b) you may have expressly consented to the disclosure or the consent may be reasonably inferred from the circumstances.
2.6 We may use your personal information to offer you products and services we believe may interest you, but we will not do so if you tell us not to. Where you receive electronic marketing communications from us, you may opt out of receiving further marketing communications by following the opt-out (unsubscribe) instructions provided in the communication.

3.1 This section sets out more specific details about personal information collected via our website at www.stratocumulus.legal
3.2 Contact forms
(a) If you contact us via our website contact form, we collect the information and contact details that you provide, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
(b) We will retain the information for the purpose of responding to any enquiries or messages. If the information is relevant to engaging us, we may enter it on our practice management system and retain it for the purpose of our relevant client file.
(c)
3.3 User comments
(a) We collect your name and contact details that you provide if you choose to post a comment on this website. The email address that you are asked to submit will not be published online. We ask for an email address to help identify who is making a comment, and to be able to contact you in response if required.
(b) When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. (A link to our spam detection service’s data collection notice is displayed underneath the comments box.)
(c) If you leave a public comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, on the basis that they add value to, and become part of, the relevant item posted on this website. This is also so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If we want us to delete a comment you have made, let us know and we will.
3.4 Email subscription
If you subscribe to our email updates, we will collect your name and email only for the purpose of adding you to our email distribution list. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link at the foot of each email sent, or by otherwise contacting us directly.
3.5 Document downloads
If you request a document download from this website, we request an email address to send you a download link. We may contact you directly for the purpose of following up with you in relation to your download and to discuss any services we may be able to provide.
3.6 Cookies
(a) We use cookies to ensure that we give you the best experience on our website. If you continue to use this site, you are consenting to this. These can be controlled via the pop-up notice when you first access this site.
(b) If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
(c) If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
(d) If you accidentally visit our login page (because it’s only for us and not intended for visitors), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
3.7 Captcha
We use Captchca verification to prevent automated spam comments and form fills. A link to our external provider’s terms and conditions is displayed underneath the Captcha box.
3.8 Site backups
User information (email subscription list, comments, contact form submissions) may be retained in backups of this website that are securely kept on our provider’s server. This information is only accessed in the event it is necessary to restore or reinstate this website after a failure or crash.
3.9 Accessing and controlling your data
(a) We will not use your data submitted through our website for any other purpose than for which it is provided, except if you have already provided your information to us separately for another purpose, in which case we may continue to use it for that purpose.
(b) If you have left comments, subscribed to our email distribution list or submitted information in the contact form, you can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
4. Accessing
4.1 You may access or request correction of the personal information that we hold about you by contacting us. Our contact details are set out at the Contact page of this website. There may be some circumstances in which we are not legally required to give you access to your personal information.

4.3 We will respond to your requests to access or correct personal information in a reasonable time and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you remains accurate, up to date, complete, relevant and not misleading.
4.4 If you have a complaint about the way in which we have handled any privacy issue, including your request for access or correction of your personal information, you should contact us. Our contact details are set out at the Contact page of this website. We will consider your complaint and determine whether it requires further investigation. We will notify you of the outcome of this investigation and any subsequent internal investigation.
