Stratocumulus Legal’s principal is David Wilson. David is an experienced intellectual property lawyer, but also with significant general legal experience accumulated over 20 years’ experience at international law firms. Based in Perth, Western Australia, he founded Stratocumulus Legal in May 2020.
He thrives on the challenge of using the entire legal toolbox to resolve clients’ issues regarding the subsistence, proprietorship, exploitation, licensing, assignment and infringement of rights including copyright, patents, trade marks, designs, confidential information and more.
David has had the rare, first-hand experience of a two-year placement in the legal group of a major Japanese company in Tokyo, working on a diverse range of commercial matters, on top of many years of coming and going between Australia and Japan for study, travel and family. He’s an enthusiastic Japanophile and advanced-level Japanese speaker.
He is analytical, thorough and strategic, yet always personable and approachable, and takes a logical and systemic approach to get to the heart of the commercial problem, offering thoughtfully decisive solutions. ☁︎
